How to pick out the lies & slow the spread
Chances are if you’ve scrolled a feed recently, you’ve been served a convincing lie made possible by AI. Whether it’s a deep fake video, a copycat voiceover, or just plain old AI-generated text, it’s getting harder to spot the fakes and even harder to stop the spread.
Dr. Rumman Chowdhury, Member of the Artificial Intelligence Safety and Security Board for the U.S. Department of Homeland Security, has already expressed her concerns about AI’s role in the spread of disinformation. Now she’s joining us to answer questions like:
– Do deep fakes and AI generated text have a ‘tell’?
– Is there any way to slow the spread of AI-generated content?
– Is mitigating these risks a concern for the public or private sector?
– What are the implications of AI & disinformation in an election year?
– What are the long and short term repercussions of a world full of convincing AI lies?
– Will social media companies be held accountable for all this?
